Master Suite...

So when we got this house, the master bathroom was in terrible shape. Melamine cabinetry was all peeling, there were really terrible hard water stains on the shower enclosure and the counters and bathtub surround were pretty banged up. When we took out the jetted tub we discovered some broken pipes too, so really fortunate that we did decide to remove it.

We used "cultured marble" in a travertine pattern (it's locally manufactured out of some sort of resiny plaster stuff). The cabinets are cherry with simple lines. I got a long deep soaker tub instead of a jetted one and we put in a big walk in shower with no door. The "glass blocks" (really plastic and all one piece) were there before. We put a door between the bathroom and the closet. And we had the floors tiled with a wainscotting in the toilet alcove.

In the bedroom, we painted it the same light light yellow as the rest of the house with white ceiling and trim. It was two colors of blue when we got here. And we put in the blinds. The windows are in terrible shape, but I love the filtered light through the blinds so I usually leave them down. It's a cozy room. I still need to get something for the wall behind the bed, but otherwise it's turned out pretty well.
