Valentine's Day







The kids and I made Valentines for their classes. Clyde put stickers and drew on the back. The funny thing is that those smiley face stickers are from when I was a kid, maybe 30 years ago! We also bought carnations to benefit St. Luke's and took those to school so everyone could have one. The kids enjoyed the day, and most enjoyed the treats they got from classmates.

Butterfingers and More Late Valentine's Day...

Both Alice and Clyde have a penchant for butter. Our butter is always getting little finger marks in it. This time I caught her in the act:


In other news, I explained (below) that we missed Valentine's Day this year but 10 days later I made Ben a cake. Four days after that he brought me home this bouquet:

It's all "junk" from the ranch, repurposed and it turned out great. We're thinking we may even put a real flower pot in the middle and make it into a planter.

Late Valentine's Day...

It was such a crazy busy Valentine's Day. My dad was out of the country so we stayed at the ranch for a couple of days. Then Ben's sister was in town so we had a family dinner. Valentine's Day has never been really a big deal for us, but Ben has made a homemade card each year. I have most years, but one year it was a pizza with I (heart) U cut out of pepperoni. This year we didn't do anything so 10 days later I made a cake.... Here it is...
