I'm one! I can do lots of things all by myself...

Mom sang me a song this morning that was different. It said "Happy Birthday to You" -- what does that mean? People are always trying to help me do stuff, but I can do things all by myself now. I keep trying to tell them, but they don't understand.

I can stand up and sometimes I take a step or two, but I don't want to do more than that yet. Crawling is so much faster!

I can drink from a cup all by myself. I like to drink milk or water after I eat lunch. Sometimes there's too much and I get all wet, but it's fun.

After taking a bath, I like to brush my hair all by myself.

I can eat cheerios and cheese all by myself. Sometimes, I even try to eat squash or beans by myself, but the spoon is still kind of hard:

  1. I can't believe you're 1!! And so stylish! If you can't get your hair to do what you want with a comb, try beans!! Happy Birthday!

  2. You are very advanced! Atticus is older than you, and he doesn't do any of that. A spoon? A brush? A real cup?!? We are still using bottles.
